Requirements for repair work

When carrying out repair work, both you and your equipment must fulfil strict requirements to ensure a safe working environment. For starters, you need to be trained and certified to SPRAT, IRATA or other equivalent standards. The ropes you use must have separate anchor points, as well as a work rope for ascent and descent. You will also need a safety rope with a slide lock that locks in case you fall.

Rescue during repair work

When carrying out repair work and other work in a fall risk environment, a rescue plan and professional rescue equipment to prevent risks. In addition, there should always be someone else trained on site to rescue you in the unlikely event of a fall. SPRAT, the Society of Professional Rope Access Technicians, is a globally recognised rope access system that ensures safety and competence in the workplace. Training is provided at your premises or at our training centre - it's up to you.
