Petzl OMNI – multi-directional carabiner
The Petzl OMNI is a semi-round carabiner designed for situations where the carabiner needs to be able to withstand loads from multiple directions. Among other things, it can be used to connect the two textile attachment points on the Petzl FALCON ASCENT, NEWTON and VOLT and for connecting a CROLL chest strap clip.
OMNI can also be used to connect anchor slings such as the Petzl CONNEXION and WIRE SLING. The carabiner has a multidirectional strength of 25 kN.
Designed for multidirectional loading
The semi-circular shape makes the OMNI particularly suitable when several components need to be attached to the same carabiner. The internal shape reduces the risk of equipment becoming snagged or the carabiner ending up in an unsuitable load position. The H-frame provides a good balance between weight and strength, whilst protecting the product marking from wear and tear. The Keylock system reduces the risk of the carabiner becoming snagged in a harness, rope or other equipment during handling.
Two locking systems
OMNI is available with two different locking systems:
SCREW-LOCK: Manual screw lock. A red indicator becomes visible when the carabiner is not locked, making it easier to check the lock visually.
TRIACT-LOCK: Automatic locking with three steps required to open the gate.
This makes it possible to choose a locking system based on the intended use and whether manual or automatic locking is required.
