Fixed fall protection systems

The need for fixed fall protection systems has increased enormously in Sweden, partly because more and more companies are focussing on fall safety and a safe working environment, and partly because regulations have become stricter.

Sales and installation of fall protection systems

ProAccess Sweden AB offers sales and installation of fall protection systems from 3MRothoblaas and Vertiqual.

Together with our partners, we produce the strength calculations, designs and fixings required for situation-specific solutions, where there are no structures capable of holding a fixed fall protection system. No two installations are the same and in most cases a personal visit to the site is required. During a visit, we will review your work situation and how to best and most cost-effectively solve your fall protection problems.

We help from A to Z with on-site product solution consultation, assembly, education and training, inspection, risk analysis and contingency plan, which means that you as a customer can feel confident that all legal requirements from the Swedish Work Environment Authority are met when the installation is completed.

5 points to consider when installing a fixed fall arrest system

When installing a fixed fall protection system, there are 5 points in particular to be considered.

  • What is the working height: I.e. the level at which the person is working. This is the single most important point to consider as it will determine the type of system that will be installed, as different manufacturers specify different working heights for their systems and whether wire or rail will be installed.
  • The width of the working platform: This has implications for the calculation of commuting cases.
  • What height should the system be installed at: Depending on whether it is rail or wire that is being installed, the installation height must be taken into account to allow room for deflection in the system. And that the clearance height to the fall arrest block is correct, so that work in the system can function without hindrance.
  • The safety margin to ground: In the event of a fall, there must be a safety margin that takes into account the weight and height of the user. Which fall arrest block to use with the fall arrest system? Different manufacturers require different safety margins for an installation to achieve the right safety. This means that all components of the system must be matched together to be approved.
  • Number of users: How many people should be able to use the system at the same time and how many people should be allowed to work on the same span.
