Fall arrestor - fall arrestor line
Fall arresters can be seen as a link between the safety harness and the fall arrest device. A fall arrest lanyard is used to protect and slow down the user during a free fall. It is elastic and follows your movements. A sewn-in strap in the fall arrestor's construction unfolds in the event of a fall, thereby slowing down the speed of the fall.

What are fall arrestors and what are they used for?
In fall arrester are a safety component that reduces the force acting on the body during a fall. They work by absorbing energy and slowing down the movement of the fall, thus reducing the risk of serious injury. Fall arrest lanyards are often used where people work at heights, for example in construction and industry. The elastic structure follows the movements and provides both freedom of movement and effective protection.

Things to consider when using a fall arrest line
A fall arrest line does not brake a fall immediately like a fall protection block do. It is therefore very important that you calculate the clearance height when using. The potential fall height must be calculated correctly to avoid the user coming into contact with objects below.
Calculate the minimum headroom distance
To prevent an accident from happening, you need to calculate the minimum fall height distance between the anchor point of the fall arrest line and the lower level.
- Twice the length of the safety line (length of the line + length of the user).
- + 1.75 metres braking distance to include the extension of the fall arrestor
- + 1 metre safety margin
Read more about drop height distance here.
Example for a two metre safety line:
2 x 2 metres + 1.75 metres + 1 metre = 6.75 metres
The fall height distance must therefore be at least 6.75 metres when using a 2-metre-long fall arrest lanyard. If you are working at low heights, a fall arrest line may not be the best solution for you. In this case, an anchor line with automatic locking may be a better option as it stops the fall after a few centimetres.
Occasions when fall arrestors are frequently used
Fall arrest lanyards are used in work where there is a risk of falling. For example, climbing in demanding industrial environments, or work where you need to move between different anchor points.
Some common uses are working on
As you can see from our range, fall arrestors come in different designs to suit specific needs and working environments. Some are designed for easier mobility and movement, while others are adapted for tougher and more static workplaces. It is therefore important to choose the right model for the type of work and work environment you will be in.

Different types of couplings for working at height
For a fall arrest system to work safely, the harness is connected to an anchorage point using ropes and fall arrest blocks. Each type of connection has specific characteristics that affect safety:
- Fall arrest lanyard: Rope with a fall arrest function that reduces the force of a fall. Often used for climbing and moving.
- Supporting rope: Used for positioning and support, it allows the user to work with both hands free while preventing falls.
- Fall protection blocks: Self retracting rope with fall arrestor providing safety and flexibility in a fixed workplace.
