Petzl PITAGOR – evacuation triangle with shoulder straps
The Petzl PITAGOR is an evacuation triangle designed for rescue operations and evacuation, including from cable cars. The ergonomic seat and shoulder straps provide a more comfortable suspended position than a traditional evacuation triangle, whilst also helping to keep the person upright during the evacuation.
Suitable for children and adults
The PITAGOR is adjusted using self-locking DOUBLEBACK buckles and can be used by people weighing between 15 and 150 kg. According to Petzl’s technical instructions, the user must be at least 115 cm tall and have a chest circumference of no more than 140 cm. Comfort handles on the sides help the user to position themselves correctly in the seat. The shoulder straps ensure that the harness remains securely in place on the body and help to keep the user in an upright position.
Quick and clear fitting
The colour-coding makes it easy to distinguish the backrest from the seat: the backrest is yellow and the seat is black. PITAGOR is secured by fastening the three metal D-rings together at the same time.
Reflective details on the back improve visibility and make it easier to use in the dark. There is also a point on the back where a guide line can be attached to help guide the person, for example, when lowering them to the ground.
Durable design for regular use
The seat is made from high-strength, PVC-free TPU, a material chosen by Petzl for regular to intensive use. The material is resistant to UV exposure, oil, grease and both high and low temperatures. It is also chlorine-free and recyclable.
Intended solely for rescue and evacuation purposes
PITAGOR is personal protective equipment designed for rescue operations. It must not be used as a body support in a fall protection system and therefore does not replace a fall protection harness when working in situations where there is a risk of falling.
