Petzl OK – oval carabiner
The Petzl OK is a lightweight, oval aluminium carabiner designed for connecting equipment with a wide attachment point, such as pulleys, rope clamps and mobile fall arresters. Its symmetrical oval shape helps to keep the equipment centred and ensures an even load distribution along the carabiner’s main axis.
Oval shape for optimal positioning
The oval shape makes the OK particularly suitable for equipment such as pulleys and rope clamps. The symmetrical design also makes it easier when the carabiner needs to rotate within a system, as it returns more easily to a suitable position.
The carabiner’s H-shape offers a good balance between weight and strength, whilst also protecting the markings from wear and tear. Petzl’s Keylock system provides a smooth transition between the gate and the carabiner body, reducing the risk of the carabiner getting caught in ropes, harnesses or other equipment during handling.
Compatible with CAPTIV
The Petzl OK can be used in conjunction with the positioning harness Petzl CAPTIV. CAPTIV helps to keep the carabiner in the correct position and loaded along its main axis. It can also keep the carabiner integrated with the connected equipment, thereby reducing the risk of the carabiner twisting.
Available with two locking systems
The Petzl OK is available with two different locking systems:
SCREW-LOCK: Features a manual screw lock and a red visual indicator that is visible when the carabiner is not locked.
TRIACT-LOCK: Features automatic locking and requires three steps to open the gate.
Both versions have the same oval shape, a 22 mm gate opening and a load capacity of 25 kN along the main axis. The main differences lie in the locking system and the weight, with the SCREW-LOCK weighing 70 g and the TRIACT-LOCK 75 g.
