Petzl KOOTENAY – pulley for passing through knots
The Petzl KOOTENAY is a pulley designed for systems where a splice between two ropes needs to be able to pass through the pulley. The generous space around the rope makes the KOOTENAY particularly useful in complex rescue and rigging systems, such as on Tyrolean traverses and longer hoisting systems. The KOOTENAY can be used with ropes with a diameter of 8–19 mm, making it compatible with a wide range of ropes.
Large rope drum for efficient rope transport
KOOTENAY features a 76 mm rope sheave with sealed ball bearings. This design ensures high efficiency and reduces friction as the rope runs through the sheave. The maximum working load is 5 kN on each side of the rope, totalling 10 kN.
Can be used as an anchor point
The KOOTENAY has locking pins on the rope drum, which mean the drum can also be used as an anchor point. This provides further possibilities when setting up complex rescue and rigging systems.
