Petzl FOOTCORD – adjustable foot loop for rope climbing
The Petzl FOOTCORD is a lightweight, adjustable foot loop used in conjunction with a rope clamp when ascending a rope. By placing their foot in the loop, the user can brace their leg, thereby making it easier to move up the rope.
FOOTCORD is compatible with Petzl’s rope clips ASCENSION and BASIC and is a practical accessory for, for example, rope access work and other tasks involving climbing ropes.
Durable and lightweight design
The foot loop is made from HMPE (high-modulus polyethylene), a hard-wearing material that combines light weight with good durability.
Weighing just 40 grams, it is easy to carry around without adding unnecessary weight to your kit.
Adjustable to suit different users
FOOTCORD has an aluminium adjustment plate that allows you to adjust the length of the foot strap.
An adjustable elastic strap helps to keep the foot in place in the loop whilst ascending. The elastic strap can be adjusted to suit different types of footwear and also makes it easy to stow the foot loop away when it is not in use.
Used in conjunction with a rope clamp
FOOTCORD is designed for use with Petzl ASCENSION or BASIC when ascending a fixed rope.
The foot loop is a mobility aid and is not a substitute for personal fall protection equipment or a separate safety system.
