Petzl VOLT WIND is a fall protection and work positioning harness specially developed for wind turbine technicians. The harness combines a high level of comfort and freedom of movement with features tailored to working on and climbing wind turbines.
The ventral The LADDER CLIMB anchor point enables a sliding carabiner to be attached for movement along vertical rail- or cable-based fall protection systems. This positioning provides a more comfortable distribution of load across the waist belt whilst climbing. In the event of a fall, the attachment point automatically moves upwards towards the chest, helping to maintain a vertical body position after the fall. The attachment point can also be used for a positioning line in a single-point configuration or a descent device.
For work inside wind turbines, VOLT WIND protective pads on the back of the shoulder straps and the waist belt. They help to protect the straps from wear and tear caused by friction when the user moves around inside the tower.
The harness is easy to put on and adjust. FAST buckles The waist belt, leg loops and the sternal attachment point mean that the harness can be put on whilst both feet remain on the ground. DOUBLEBACK buckles The shoulder straps and waist belt allow for quick adjustment and are fitted with an anti-slip feature that helps to maintain the correct fit throughout the working day.
Shoulder straps, waist belt and leg loops feature moulded padding made from breathable material for enhanced comfort. The semi-rigid waist belt and leg loops provide support, whilst adjustable back straps and removable padding allow you to customise the fit.
