Petzl is recalling some batches of the European version of the NEWTON-harnesses manufactured in 2022, inclusive:
- NEWTON (references: C073AA01, C073AA02)
- NEWTON FAST (references: C073CA01, C073CA02)
- NEWTON EASYFIT (references: C073EA00, C073EA01, C073EA02)
Identified risk
A non-compliant batch of FAST LT-buckles have been identified. On the harnesses concerned FAST LT-The buckle is placed on the chest and used to attach the harness.
If the harness is attached to the dorsal attachment point and FAST LT-If the buckle breaks, the harness can come loose. In the event of a fall or suspension in the harness, the user may in the worst case slip out of the harness completely and fall to the ground.
Which harnesses are covered by the recall?
Only certain batches of the European version of NEWTON harnesses manufactured in 2022 are covered by this recall.
Stop using the affected harnesses immediately.
